Feger crowned MARS champion at Tri-City Speedway
With Friday’s opener falling to wet weather, Jason Feger was one of 36 MARS Championship Series entries on the grounds at Tri-City Speedway (Granite City, Ill.) on Saturday for the second round of the series' season finale.
Following the third-fastest qualifying lap in his 18-car group, Feger outran pole-starting Bob Gardner in his heat to pick up the eight-lap victory. Chasing a $5,000 payday in the feature, Jason jumped up two spots in the 30-lapper to register a second-place finish. He followed race-long pacesetter Mike Harrison across the line with Logan Martin rounding out the podium.
Just by entering the event, Jason clinched the MARS Championship Series title and the $10,000 prize.
