5th-6th-5th over MARS tripleheader weekend
Jason Feger entered his Remtek Enterprises No. 25 Late Model into battle with MARS Late Model Championship on Friday evening at Brownstown Bulllring (Brownstown, Ill.) for the first event of the recently revived tour.
With 37 Late Models on the grounds for the Diggin’ Dirt 40, Feger edged his way into the opener with the fourth-and-final transfer spot in his heat. Wheeling his way into the top-five, Jason passed 10 cars in the 40-lap affair to register a fifth-place finish. He trailed Tyler Erb, Brandon Sheppard, Shannon Babb, and Brian Shirley to the checkers.
In a field of 32 Late Models on Saturday at Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.), Jason followed up the eighth-fastest qualifying lap in his group with a fourth-place finish in his heat. With $5,000 on the line in the feature, Feger advanced forward nine spots in the 40-lapper to finish sixth.
For the Red Hill Rumble on Sunday at Red Hill Raceway (Sumner, Ill.), Feger secured his spot into the $5,000-to-win weekend finale with a runner-up showing in his heat. Losing one position, Jason recorded a fifth-place finish, which came behind Brandon Sheppard, Tanner English, Drake Troutman, and Ryan Unzicker.
With the first weekend in the books, Jason sits third in the MARS point standings.
